"...he whispered into the Void, and the Void whispered back..."

Weak and sickly as a hatchling, he was cast out by his parents after his burden became too much.
His parents, being loyal to the Shadowbinder, brought their scrawny, unwanted young
to the Alter of the Shadowbinder and offered him to her for a place in her Exalted ranks.
The left him there, without a word, and he waited for his call.

Others came in the following days.
Other would bring their young to the alter, and one by one, they were called away.
But he remained.
He didn't know how long he'd been there. Too weak to move,
cold, hungry, wondering where was his call?
Was he unfit, even to serve his goddess?

He cried out, a soft whimper. So small, it was barely audible, even in the stillness of the silence.
He whispered into the Void...
and the Void whispered back.

"Not yet."

Kryses refuses to speak of that time
He's since been marked by the Shadowbinder with oozing, glorious wings.
Beyond loyal; unconditional.


Kryses has had a hard time adjusting to clan-life.
He is extremely selfish and condescending,
making it difficult for even the most patient beings to bite their tongues.
He is hated by fellow clan member, Thaddeus.
Were it not for Aequitas' unquestionable rule, things would get rough.
His dark outlook and general unpleasantness has earned him the nickname "Kurses"

It is unknown to the rest of the clan why his presence is tolerated,
but Aequitas' word is final.
