Artemis

"Artemis. Artemis Aarden!"
The little brown dragon didn't hear his name being called and just burrowed and played in the dirt more. He was trying to make a big underground cavern. Why, he doesn't know. He just wants to make a really big hole. He managed to do this over the course of the morning, and looked over his work with satisfaction. Maybe it's time for a break. He squeezed his body through the small tunnel he scratched out of the earth and popped his head up above the ground. The sky was blue and the world smelled like dirt and the forest, and Artemis smiled lazily up at the sun. He had worked so hard and long, he deserves a little nap doesn't he? He started closing his eyes, the warmth of the sun lulling him to sleep when...
"Artemis Aarden! Where in the world are you?!" An indignant voice woke him up instantly as they came closer. Giggling, he tries to stay as still and quiet as possible, but as soon as the feet of the one calling his name came close he jumped out and grabbed onto their leg. A shriek turns into the laugh as they see the little dragon holding on with all his might.
"Artemis! Why do you always hide like that? I swear I'm going to step on you one day." Artemis just giggled in response, then scrabbled back into the dirt.
"Oh no Artemis, come on, it's dinner time. Stop digging holes and lets go." Sighing, Artemis goes back and takes hold onto their leg. He was tired, but he didn't want to leave the hole.
"You can finish it tomorrow, don't worry." At this Artemis smiled, and happily went back to the lair.
