Arturo is the lead vocalist and plays the lute in the band The AbsoLutes. The band takes on many different gigs, such as football matches and dinitoing (a game where pairs dance tango while trying to catch a Bucktooth Digger). Although the football matches require at least seven bands, Arturo is so confident in The AbsoLutes that he believes they're worth ten bands.

He has a slightly rebellious streak, and is not afraid to voice his opinion on stage, or to draw graffiti on flags. He can't read maps very well, and has been lost in The Hewn City many times. He is the brother of Proffen, who he thinks is the less attractive one of the two.
