the museum's main hall is lit by a grand skylight, providing more than enough light for its ancient artifacts even on cloudy days. at night, though, when the only light shining through the glass is stars, those dusty corners seem darker than they should. fossils and fabric cast strange shadows, and one is never certain if those dim points of light at the end of the hall are reflected stars, or...

it is rat's job to watch the halls in the dark of the night. small and slight, one may not think him the best choice in security, yet he shows no sign of fear. these halls are his home. they protect him, just as he protects them. even the beings in the archive pose little threat to him.

rat's job is just as much keeping things in as keeping people out, as well as... cleaning up any mess left behind if something finds an intruder before he does.
