Imperius bares the scars from his bloody past, he was once a king a very long time ago and he wasn’t a very good one. Many of his own sons and daughters lost their lives because of him. His violence was calculated and cold as he slaughtered them in their sleep. Those that did wake with the screams of pain and rage of the fallen came to him for guidance and help until they realized he was the one slaughtering them all. They didn’t stand a chance under his assault, they were pampered and raised in comfort. The only fighting they ever did was through words but Imperius hadn’t been raised in comfort and his rise to power was as bloody as his fall. The ground of the palace ran red and when he was done his feet were slick with gore, he didn’t come out of it unhurt but at least he came out of it with his life.

He’d killed them all and for what? Because he was tired of the depraved court life he helped cultivate? They left their people to starve and live in squalor so that the nobles could live comfortably, so was he after redemption?

It was nothing so selfless…his change of heart came after a particularly savage attempt on his life and after finding out his own sons had made the attempt. It was just before dawn when he started the cull and by noon he was alone and far from the city. As what was left, of his imperial kin, rose again and finished what he hadn’t.

It’s been years since the incident. He lost count of how many and he’s lived in relative isolation ever since, but recently he's started gathering power and found himself a home in the Duskwoods where he's recognized as Lord and Ruler.
