Born from fire and blood, Houtu's birth was unexpectedly blessed not by the Arcanist or one of her parents' deities, but by the Earthshaker, whose flight dominated when she hatched. Shy and creative, this one left her nest almost as soon as she got rid of all the egg shell to hide under the table in the forge of the clan, fascinated by the way magic could be wielded to create and not to fight.

But when she trained, she found metal too easy, too soft to use, and war held no interest for her. She turned her attention away from the teachers her parents or her birth clan offered, prefering to hide in her books and improvised workshop (still under the table of the forge).

Titania, the leader of her birth clan, noticed her interest in crafts and magic and suggested she travels to Welgan's clan, a long-time ally and friend. There, she could learn and craft as much as she wanted, and hopefully she'd find like-minded people.

Indeed she found some - Asuna, an older dragon enthusiastically took her under her wing and became a dear friend, as well as a steadfast supporter of all her endeavors. When Hontu was shy, Asuna was witty and together, they planned to create a shop to sell mana stones, that they would first shape into pretty forms.

(and then, there was Secret, not quite shy but unsure of social standings, that she couldn't help but be fascinated by. He wore a disguise of stones and sand, like an armour against the world and she wanted to show him that it didn't have to be this way.)

Today, she is Asuna's associate and they run their mana stones boutique quite successfully. The demand inside the clan is huge, but they're also exporting thanks to our clan's spot in cloudsong and the traveling merchants work.
She still works under a table, though. It seems to confort her. To be honest, now she's older and bigger, they had to craft for her a special table that almost looks like an elevate bed, but she never did better work since she has her special work place.

As for Secret, well... that's a secret they're not willing to share with the clan.
(But as her best friend Asuna knows everything and enjoys spending her rest time at the laughing Dodo Inn chatting with Thystae, Twingeatheago, and the whole Gossip Team, it's fair that everyone knows that someone is finally taking care of this strange clan member.)
