~ Rough Draft ~

Ink was always buried in scrolls, absorbing every word. A fervent lover of history and astronomy, she threw herself into every study she could.

A lack of attention from her mother made her even more removed and distant. When she was of age, her mother approached her and asked her to be a spy of the Shadowbinder, like she was herself. Ink loved her life, and although she was desperate for attention, she didn't want to be a spy. She protested the arrangement, and her mother knew she had let her into a dangerous secret.

Ink was arranged to be exalted and serve the Tidelord. She wasn't sure how she felt about it. Sure, she'd get to read scrolls forever, but she wasn't sure whether she wanted to spend the rest of her life serving the deity. What about a mate, and dragonets? What about watching them grow up?

Like all young dragons of her clan, she was lined up with the rest. Those who weren't taken would be exalted, and she was paralyzed with anticipation.

Not too long after, a black-and-green mirror appeared. "Don't worry, it'll be alright." He whispered. Beside him, a red-and-blue male and two purple females went around, picking out others to accompany them. "Come with us." He beckoned, flicking his tail at them.

Sharing a startled look with her fellow lucky clanmates, Ink followed the mirror out to a clan of fire.
"My name is Adder." He said, dipping his head. "While some of you will stay, others will find their true home where they belong."

He began to call out names, and Ink was one of them. "Come." He said, smiling at her. She fell in behind him and he led her on the search to find the place where she belonged.
