raised from birth to be an assassin and killer, Sai is no stranger to violence. a talented individual, she was kept by a notorious spymaster and spent most of her life in a high tower where she was trained to do his bidding unfailingly. fed magically-infused rations and imbued with energy, she would grow to be faster, smarter and sharper than any real assassin could ever hope to be. with these boons, however, came the cost of her lifespan and gave her the glowing eyes she is known for, and it was one day after her kill as she was returned blindfolded to her home she realised that this life could not be all there was. magic controlled her every move and she danced to the rhythm of the spymaster by the iron shackles about her feet, but some of her thoughts were nontheless her own.

so, she left one day. the grate to her prison left ajar, she took the chance to escape and murdered any who tried to stop her. after that, she ran and ran and ran and found a group of four adventurers camping that night in a forest. help me, she ordered, and they obliged. that act would form a deep bond between the five of them, and together they would get as far from the spymaster as possible and become known as The Shacklebreakers.

her confidence hides a deep fear of the future, and her charming exterior is a way of disarming those who would harm her and her closest friends.
