Biography
The thick scent of spices encompasses your nose as you enter the dimly lit shop. When the door shuts behind you, a myriad of chimes and crystals play an out-of-tune melody.
The dragon starts to mumble to herself, appearing from behind a counter stacked high with glass jars and dried herbs. Her dark scales are hidden beneath a faded gold cloth draped over her face, and you wonder for a moment how she can possibly see beneath the fabric. She smiles when she feels your gaze, expression as warm as the air.
You place a pouch of gold onto the countertop, and she patiently waits through your order before taking it. The spiral dragon introduces herself as she brings out a copper bowl full of steaming red broth. Her name is Irkya, and she’s been tending the shop for as long as she’s lived in Worldly territory. In between bites of dried bread, you ask how long that’s been. She gasps, scandalized.
Irkya chuckles.
The evening passes quick with the charming older lady. You thank her for the meal and head out the door, flexing your wings in the warm summer air. You’re about to take off when you hear the chimes and crystals again. Irkya stands in the shop entrance.
Irkya seems uncharacteristically serious, given the short time you’ve known her. You thank her for her hospitality before turning around, mulling over her words long into the night.
“Watch your step, dear! I’ve been meaning to pay some younger scales to get down here and fix those crumbling stairs.”

I don’t know if there’s a glimmer of truth to that ancient magic nonsense they’ve told story and story about, but if there’s one thing you can’t underestimate about them, it’s their influence. This is their city. Be safe now, dear.
