Twigs snap sharply in the distance, cutting through the stillness of the muggy air. With almost serpent-like motions, Jester uncoils himself from around a macro-mushroom base and begins skittering along the canopy floor. His nose is telling him that something smells very savory-- a certain appetizing quality that compliments decay. A dead Basilisk, maybe. He's always had an affinity for reptiles.

What he comes across is just that. The Basilisk's head has been crushed by something ten, maybe twenty times its weight, but the body and legs remain in tact. Relatively untouched by local wildlife, save for the flies that seem intent on buzzing about its carcass. Good. They can serve as little appetizers for the main course (or should we say, main corpse)? Jester sits with a crookedly delighted smile and begins to pull his long mane back and away from his face. Delicious. He hardly has any time to do this outside of work hours. Silly little creatures with circus horns and sparklers cause more chaos than one might believe, and he has felt the brunt of that for the past however many years he's been at it.

Jester chitters almost gleefully as he begins snuffing his nose around the Basilisk's shoulder joint. All of the pigment that had been so meticulously painted onto his face smears along its scales and feathers, leaving a trail of murky grey behind. No matter, he thinks, I'm in more of a reeeed mood anyway!
