The Clan's Metal-worker

Most would think that Tundras would be one of the least likely breeds to become a Metal worker. So much pelt to catch on fire, and designed to keep the species warm - they would surely overheat when working with molten alloys.

Andom seemed unaffected by these. She never felt overwhelmed by the sweltering heat of magma and melted metal, and she kept the longest parts of her silky pelt tied back when she worked. Some wondered if it was the colours of her coat, others suspected it was to do with her origination from the Fire realm. Her egg had soaked in magma for nearly a week before she hatched.

She spent her days shaping metal into weapons for the Clan's warriors, tools for the gardeners, kitchen, any other job that required anything asked her. She loved her job, was happy to create anything needed.

She fondly remembered one time when a pearlcatcher had asked her to create a gold-cast ring for his love that he wanted to propose to. She had made the delicate item with care and love, and watched the two with a smile. His love accepted, of course, and Andom was gifted with a sweet cake to thank her for such a good job. He was intent to believe that it was her ring that got him the 'yes'.

When she's not working, Andom can be found washing soot out of her pelt, or relaxing and reading up on books about tool-working in the local library.
