It is tradition that the Hivernal Storm clan changes leaders, when they move from one flight to another, so that they're always led by a native born to the flight whose land they settle on. Tzitzimitl sought the right Nature dragon for weeks, as the clan prepared their move. But in the end, it was Shodan who found her instead. The druid was a powerful magicworker, but always alone. She had gone beyond her ability to raise power without others working alongside her, and was looking to join with a clan interested in building stronger magic than anyone had ever seen. And the scientists and engineers and magical experimenters of the Hivernal Storm clan heard this and immediately grinned, as Arwenna got to work on devices to amplify magical power, and Asterisma began brewing potions, and the battlemage Jacque spoke to Shodan of how his magic worked. No one really knows, yet, what Shodan wants this power for. But the clan have always been the sort of dragons to look more at theory than practical application.
