Born from the love affair between a noblewoman and a traveling mage, Avony has had a rough start in life. Not only that, but she was born blind, something which her mother believes is a punishment for her infidelity. Despite this, however, Avony has gone on to prove that she doesn't need to be pitied and instead has her own strengths. |

Avony is a young dragoness studying within the palace of Aurorthea to become a court mage. Born from an affair between her mother, a noblewoman, and a mysterious traveling mage, she was looked down upon by many in her family's social circle. As a result she was kept locked away from most of the world during her youth. Her mother would rarely speak to her, and her stepfather would blatantly ignore her, going so far as to resent her for existing. As time passed and Avony was forced to entertain herself, she discovered she had a pension for magic. Despite being blind, she was able to learn how to "see" using this newfound sorcery within herself. She would begin to sneak out of her home at night and wander about the city. She enjoyed learning about this new world around her. One night while she was exploring the sorcery shop district of the city, she accidentally ran into an older dragon. She was quick to apologize, but the male only seemed to consider her curiously before speaking. He asked where a blind dragon had learned Sight magic. Avony, in her confusion, said she didn't know and she had just discovered it for herself. The older dragon considered this in silence before bidding her farewell. Avony hurried home, caught off guard by the meeting as she hadn't realized others might be able to sense her magic. The next day the stranger appeared at the front door of her home, asking to see her. Her mother and stepfather were aghast, wondering what the dragon wanted, and her stepfather went so far as to demand the male leave. However, it turned out that this was no ordinary dragon but instead was Avantgarde, the queen's advisor. Horrified at having potentially insulted the mage, Avony's parents quickly presented her. Avantgarde then made her an offer to come live in the palace and train as a mage. This shocked everyone, but Avony agreed and was soon whisked away to the palace. She has lived there ever since, training under Avantgarde and even Elsa, though she still does not know why she was chosen. Shortly upon arriving at the palace, one of the warrior apprentices took notice of Avony. The young dragoness, whose name was Tirella, would seek out the mage apprentice regularly, trying to learn more about her. Apparently she wanted friendship, something Avony was not accustomed to. It took a lot of time and persistence on Tirella's part, but eventually the two became good friends. She is one of the few people that Avony trusts. |

She has never met him. Avantgarde, her teacher and the one who rescued her from her life of solitude. Elsa, a powerful royal mage who also contributes to her education. Tirella, a warrior apprentice and her close friend. |
