They live in groups of two mates and a clutch of eggs. Once the eggs hatched, both parents leave them to defend for themsleves. They will make a small shelter in a tree for the hatchlings before they leave.

They live in colonies which can have up to 6 breeding pairs. These pairs tend to have more litters than most dragon which is surprising since they life such short lifespans. Many kids die when they are young due to birth complications which allows only some to survive to adulthood. Once Fledgling years is reached they stick by their parents to help them with their elder years. Once the elders passed they will say goodbyes to their siblings and either find or start colonies of their own.
