Biography
No, his apparel is layered correctly.
"Father, you said I could be whatever I want to be. I want to become a Guardian. I want to be a Guardian and help our Clan."
"Son, this is ridiculous. There is only so much a mask can hide, and who would want to breed-change into a common dragon like them when you can stay limited and rare? There are no imperial breed-change scrolls in the market, nowadays."
"But I want to help others. I want to-"
"Enough is enough. If you want to be a Guardian, you can be one... outside of this Clan." his voice was quiet. Quiet, but menacing. Glasspool would have preferred it if his father had shouted instead.
"But father, I want-"
"I SAID ENOUGH!" his father roared. Never mind. Glasspool preferred him using the silent tone instead of broadcasting it to everyone else. He quivered in fear, awaiting his punishment.
"Father, I'm sorr-"
"You are a disappointment to me. You are worthless, like the Guardians you admire so much. Aren't you going to apologise?"
"Sorry, father, for being a burden to our Clan, and extra mouth to feed, a worthless pile of scales, an unnecessary spark of life that should have never existed in the first place," Glasspool recited from memory, the phrases that he was taught when he first hatched.
"Our Clan? You mean... my Clan? Meet me by the shore at the brink of dawn. Do not come late." And with that, his father flicked his tail and left Glasspool to stand there, in the rain, no den to retreat and shelter from the rain. No den to sleep in, warm and dry. No food to eat, except from the odd fly or two, no water to drink except for the muddy puddles left after some rain, or perhaps some sea-water if there was a drought. He was a mistake. A failure. A reject from a difficult project. This was his way of life, and there was nothing anyone could do about it, or so he thought...
