Often it has been said that beauty is only skin deep. Many interpretations of this have made individuals ponder over lifetimes. But beauty is more than any one thing… and the definition differs for each budding philosopher or lonely romantic.

Aurora wants to be like her namesake, the lights across the sky. To that end, she makes herself patches of shell to bring color to what she considers her ‘drab hide’. While not constantly belittling herself, it’s obvious that the nocturne doesn’t think much of her looks. She cannot quite believe that she's beautiful without her decorations.

Because of this, Aurora has a hard time accepting anything nice said about her, though she is quick to compliment others. Beyond compliments, she takes much joy in being able to help her lair mates with anything they might ask of her. Her inner light is almost blinding and is shown in the way she cares for others.

Someday, perhaps, Aurora will believe that what makes her the prettiest is the way she shows others that they are something beautiful in her eyes. But until that day, she’ll just have to learn her lesson the slow way… by being loved into submission by her clan.
