Memorable Quote:
"Stars shine the brightest during the darkest of nights." - Lexie

Bio:
"Lexie is one of the key founders of the Starlight Clan and is responsible for a lot of the clan's growth. She always came to aid without hesitation, whether it was to help with gathering food or expanding the lair. Lexie is also responsible for having kept Kayda and the other early members of the clan safe from danger, promptly earning herself the title of the Starlight Clan's first protector. It was hard work considering she had her little charge to take care of, who just always seemed to want their mother's attention all hours of the day. But Lexie managed, and her hard work has not been in vain." - Aristeia

Story:
Like all other Guardian dragons, Lexie left her old clan once she had reached adulthood in search of what would become her charge, which she would devote her entire life to protecting. Lexie wasn’t quite sure what her charge would be, all she knew was that she’d recognize it once she found it. She wandered far and wide, only stopping occasionally to rest for a short while before continuing her lengthy search. Lexie met plenty of dragons along her journey, many of which joined her and traveled alongside her for a little while before staying behind and wishing her good luck on her travels.

Days turned into months and months into years. Lexie had wandered everywhere, from the furthest stretches of the Southern Icefield to the deepest depths of the Viridian Labyrinth. Three years. Five years. Eight years. Twelve years. Time kept passing her by. She was starting to get worried, wondering if she had somehow missed her charge during her journey. There were plenty of times where Lexie wandered through the same area over and over again, still not able to find what she was looking for. Many of the dragons she had previously encountered during her search would offer her a place to stay with them, but Lexie declined and kept going, she knew her charge was out there somewhere, even if she might have overlooked it at first.

One night, during a full moon, Lexie wandered through the Tangled Woods. It was the fifth time she had been in those woods, and just like the previous times, there was no sign of a charge anywhere. Lexie suddenly stopped in her tracks when a certain sound caught her attention. The faint sound of muffled, compulsive gasps echoed between the trees. She could make the sounds out to be the sobbing of a hatchling. Lexie made her way through the trees, watching her every step before she suddenly reached a clearing. There, illuminated by the silver moon, Lexie could see the results of a vicious battle. Blood splatter and the torn-apart corpses of a Nocturne clan were spread throughout the field. By one of the corpses beneath a tree, barely hidden from the soft light of the moon, was a little Nocturne hatchling mourning the death of its parent. Tears ran down the Nocturne’s wine red cheeks as it laid curled up in its dead mother’s embrace. Lexie watched the hatchling, her throat clogged up and she felt a sharp pain in her chest. Such an awful tragedy to witness, especially at such a young age. With a heavy heart, Lexie made her way towards the hatchling, who flinched in fear from the sound of such a big dragon approaching. The Nocturne looked up at Lexie with fearful eyes, for a simple step would be enough to crush the little hatchling. However, Lexie laid down next to the hatchling instead, looking down at it with friendly eyes and a faint smile.

Do not be afraid, little one”, Lexie said, reaching out her open hand towards the hatchling. “I promise that you are safe now”. The hatchling sniveled before it timidly stood up and began crawling towards Lexie. It slowly began climbing on her claws and fingers before making it onto her palm. Lexie slowly brought her hand closer to her chest once the hatchling had settled down and shielded it with her wings, preventing anything from further harming it.

I may not be a fit parent, and I cannot replace your mother, but I promise you that I will protect you with my life”. Lexie watched the hatchling curl up to her chest, quickly nodding off once it had found a comfortable position to sleep in. “I will protect you no matter what, for you are my charge”. Lexie laid her head down on the grass, her tiredness slowly taking over her conscious.

You are my charge, little Carnelian”, Lexie softly muttered before she fell asleep in the silver moon’s soft embrace.
