While Cthulhu is the most common spelling, his name is unpronounceable by dragonkind, leaving many to simply call him The Sleeper. He communicates through telepathy, and he can reach introspective dragons through their dreams.

While he looks more draconic than most Outer Gods, he is almost as large as a mountain. He has leathery wings, a scaly body, and a slimy head with tentacles like an octopus or squid. His green skin is appears to be rubbery, and he has massive claws on his paws.

Cthulhu became stranded in Sorienth when it moved too far away for him to reach other galaxies. He and his spawn fought against the resident Other Gods, regenerating too quickly to be killed. However, the war was ended when R'lyeh sank beneath the ocean. Cthulhu bides his time in his sunken temple, waiting for the stars to realign so he can escape.
