Falling in love is not a choice. It comes out of nowhere when you first meet that person. First, your eyes linger on them for slightly longer than everyone else. Whenever you are in the same room as them, you subconsciously seek them out, and smile without realizing it. When they look at you, you avert your eyes and pretend you hadn't been looking, but the blush on your cheeks gives you away.

Then slowly, when you catch a break from your day, your mind prances back to them, and you try to visualize every detail of their face in your mind; and sometimes get frustrated if a detail takes a while to come to you. You only think of them once; but that's because they never leave your mind. No matter what you are doing or thinking, the thought of them lies in the front of your mind.

The next time you see them, you consider walking up to them and trying to start a conversation; but you don't the first few times. When you finally build up the courage, you try to fall into stride and start off small; talk about an assignment or just something non-consequential. You make a pattern of this until you feel comfortable around them; and hopefully they do too.
