Neka is a petite yet lovely Skydancer raised by Enchanter and Chimera as their daughter. She is regarded as a young and naive but talented necromancer, showing promise is reanimating spirits. For as young as she is, Neka is also called an 'old soul' by Chimera. Her best friend is a Somber Spirit named Nickolas, or Nick for short.

Born to Yaarit and Serva and set up in a hatchery, Neka was 2 weeks old when she was rehomed to the Cave Dwellers. As soon as she arrived, Enchanter and Chimera took an especial liking to her, gushing over her and showering Neka with gifts, praise, and adoration. This led the couple to adopt the young Skydancer as their daughter.

Gilderose is very content with her life, with nothing foreseeable in her future nor anything she particularly has hopes for. Some dragons have tried to get into a relationship with her, but she is uninterested in any suitors. However, this is far from a boring life for the young Spiral. She enjoys reading and silk painting, often making different paintings for the Rebel's Recluse. Gilderose often finds herself singing while she paints, and her voice to described as "akin to a songbird who just drank honey". As much as she loves to sing, Gilderose is very self-conscious about her voice and often sings only in private. When she's not reading, painting, or singing, Gilderose can be found collecting scraps of silk, little stones and gems, and even bird feathers to collect in a glass case in her sleeping quarters. She likes the rainbows that appear when the sun goes through the glass case, hits the gems, and reflects onto the white, fluffy rugs.

To Neka, the tight confines of her family's shack is not very comforting, especially with a Ridgeback in the home, so she spends her nights on the roof. Despite her permanent residence there, she only has a pillow and a few blankets for company. She counts the stars until sleep claims her, in which Nick watches over her.
