Peaches are soft. Soft, with a light fuzz around the surface. Inside, they're rich and delicate, sweet and lovely. In this way, She was exactly like her namesake. With light pink colourations and flowers that bloomed from her very person itself. Her birth- Or rather, Creation, perhaps? Was blurry. What she did remember clearly, and the first memory she had, truely, was Carrion. Beauty, grace- and love embodied in a single dragon.

Peaches are sweet, but the time before their ripe flavour turns to one of rot is short-lived, and Peaches herself was only a child lost in the world, a silky furred creature, small, all too easy to destroy. Bu Carrion hadn't done that. Peaches had been lifted up into the goddess's arms, and the Skydancer had walked forth clutching the hatchling to her chest.

Peaches, like any other fruit, are meant to expire. That day- Out in the heat of the day, the sweltering sun beating down on her thick furred body, had not been that day for Peaches. She'd been carried in that way, in the caring arms so unfamiliar to her. Quiet words, little trills of song lilting as the heat faded away from the earth, as the ball of flame went down over the horizon. Only when the ground's burn had subsided did she set Peaches down by her side, and only then did she begin speaking to the hatchling.

"Greetings, Child- Why were you alone here? Where is your family?" Something about Carrion's voice, light, and still with that sing-song aspect. Something about it was the most exciting, and the most calming thing that Peaches had ever heard. It left her- Bewildered- staring at the older, larger dragon for what seemed like far too long, before she blinked herself back to reality, meeting the green eyes of the other.

"I- I don't know? I'm just.." Peaches glanced around the area. Sand loomed over the surface of the earth, getting caught in her fur as she stood. "Here, I guess?"

Carrion tilted her dainty head to the side at the explanation- Or lack thereof. Confusion moved slowly across her face, replaced quickly with sadness, and finally, resignation. She'd made a decision, and though Peaches had no idea what it was, she found herself trusting of the older dragon.

"No matter." Hummed Carrion, lifting to stand on her hind legs again, stretching her wings out to their full length- so much longer than even the entirety of Peaches's body. Perhaps, if not for this odd comfort, she would have felt frightened at being so utterly dwarfed. But when faced with that same reality from this Dragon, who still remained nameless to Peaches, she felt no such fear. Carrion continued speaking, lowering herself to the ground, to see at least slightly eye to eye with the small hatchling. "I'm Carrion. If you'd like, you could also call me Mother- Or.." A twinkle of something lit in Carrion's eyes as she continued, something playful and fun. "...Something along the lines of Mama would also work?"

An offer extended- an offer that took Peaches a moment to process, and a moment longer to understand. But when she did, her heart lit with joy, and she ducked down her head and front paws, keeping her back legs extended and striking a playful pose, with her tail lifted high above her head. A smile spread easily over her face- for not the first time. And, most certainly, not the last.

She was once again swept up into the arms of this ethereal dragon who'd just offered to take her- in a metaphorical sense at least- under her wing. Laughing in tandem with each other, Peaches was swung around in Carrion's arms until the Skydancer lost balance to the point where even her tail could no longer catch her to keep the two of them upright.

Such pure joy, however unjust, went unseen by the world. Only the stars above their heads got to witness this meeting- This meeting which seemed so predetermined, so fateful. And perhaps it was fate.

Peaches are small. They're soft, and they must be treated with care the world might always provide on it's own.

However, sometimes- A Peach won't go to waste. It will find it's way into the hands of someone who needs a reminder of how good the world can be.
