Kalachuchi

The other baby dragons were enamored with the colorful toys, plants, and familiars in their clan's territory. But her curious eye was caught by something else.

She saw a line of engraved stones, all uniformly made and yet custom-colored. They had the names of dragons she had never known. She couldn't actually read anything of the writings that had been left nearby. There were various pieces of food and other materials placed neatly beside them.

This did not go unnoticed by the clan elders. They saw her while they were deciding on the names for the babies.

She had not known it then, but she stumbled upon the markers that served as remembrances of those clan members who had gone on to serve the Icewarden, as well as other deities. It is true, they still are very much alive, and sometimes drop by (thus the practice of leaving items by their markers). Yet, they could not stay long, and they always had to hurry. This still manifested a profound sense of loss in those who remained. They planted these flowers to honor and remember their exalted kin.

The elders chose to name her after a plant that was often planted to honor the exalted. As if on cue, one such flower gently landed on her nose. She sniffed it, and, apparently liking it, ate it.

This was the Kalachuchi tree.

And thus, was Kalachuchi the dragon named. "Chuchay" for short.
