Hunter, Cook at The Blue Feather

Gedryn doesn't really talk much about his past.

Short story is he was set to inherit the family business, didn't want it, joined a troupe of performers,some underworld types, got away from them and ended up in Cypress's kitchen.

Long story is his family was more of a fervent sect of Plague followers out in the Sunbeam Ruins that his father led and the business was smuggling.

Not minor stuff like foods or cloth either. Black market gene and breed change scrolls, knockoff eye vials, vicious beasts from the wilds to fight in the arena, that type of stuff.

Gedryn ran away with his friend Olive in tow after finding out he was set to inherit it all after his elder brother proved unworthy. His father wasn't happy about this and sent out a retrieval crew.

They ran as far as Emperor's Wake before they lost their pursuers and wound up joining a troupe of performers in the Tangled Wood to A: Make some extra money to move on and B: try and lay low for a bit.

Gedryn ended up indebted to a fellow you don't want to be indebted to and after working with him and his crew for a bit before running from that, now having his father's people -and- his debtors' looking for him.

The two fled to Dragonhome where they ended up holing up in an abandoned harpy roost, and later moving to New Sunstone after spending a few months at Blackshell Ranch after meeting Hal in the Echo Market.

Even though both Olive and Gedryn signed up for a place in New Sunstone, only Olive stays at it.

Gedryn lives at Tabra's inn.
Reckons it's an easier place to leave if he needs to run again.

Hopefully, his days of running are over. He's made some good friends and even started to consider some of them his family(Heck, Cypress has all but adopted him, Zashi and Mani'd be wrecked to see him go and there might be something between him and Hal).

He's got reasons to run if he has to, but finally more reasons to stay.
