Gale's Thoughts: Tether
Not even ten minutes after we met, Tether tried to seduce me.
...Was I not already happily wed, I might have taken her up on her offer.
Tether is not like Magdalena in that she uses seduction to get her way. She's a hopeless romantic; she simply appreciates beautiful dragons and isn't shy about telling them how gorgeous she thinks they are. Flattery will get her everywhere, and it's done pretty well for her so far. She stationed herself in almost every flight's territory at one point or another before finally landing in Chiaroscuro's corner of the world and deciding to stay.
Solana found a use for Tether's chosen occupation very quickly. Tether has been a escort for the majority of her life, playing the roles of everything from arm candy at important events to the obnoxious girlfriend a young dragon brings home to meet demanding parents. Since she gives her services on behalf of the hotel now, she gets a place to live, a steady influx of customers, and plenty of dragons on her side should anyone get too demanding with her in any way. More income for Hotel Contraste and more stability for Tether works out well for everyone.
Tether is also a remarkably gifted writer, much to my delight. She and I have spent many an afternoon with me poring over her stories of the dragons she's had as clients over the years and her asking about the various personalities who live among the ranks of Chiaroscuro. We're both very much intrigued by the other dragons around us, which makes for easy conversation.
She admitted to me during one of our talks that she wants to find someone to settle down with, but she's afraid she will never find anyone who approves of her job or her naturally flirty personality when it comes to others.
"I'm not a cheater. I would never do that to someone I loved, not even for my work. But I also don't want to tone down my natural self to find someone. I've worked hard to be my best self, even if other dragons don't see it as anything monumental."
I could only tell her that with her beautiful face and charming stories, there's no way she won't snag someone eventually. She gave me a cheeky grin for that and a coy,
"You think I'm beautiful, huh?"
And that's pretty much how our entire friendship works. Deep talks surrounded by harmless flirtations and outlandish tales of dragons from near and far. I hope, for her sake, that someone wonderful comes along and sweeps her off her feet, appreciative of all that she is.
Edit: If my eyes do not deceive me (and they so rarely do), Tether may have finally found someone.
I'll admit to having been a bit surprised by her current suitor at first, since the dragons Tether tends to be attracted to are so rarely the strong, silent type. They're always boisterous and outgoing, or at the very least outspoken enough about their passions that she can easily form a connection with them.
Endario is... certainly not that, but "his small gestures often have big meanings," as Tether puts it, and she always has the biggest, goofiest smile on her face after she's spent time with him. Whatever he's doing is clearly enough to make her happy, and it wouldn't surprise me if he officially propositioned her to be his mate at some point soon.
...Or the other way around. Tether might beat him to it.
