Sahara defected from the clan's old ways in order to feel freedom again. She swore her allegiance to the Shade and proposed forming a cult in its name, to carry out its dirty work while the shadelings focused on conquest. The situation was quite similar to that of Rangt's, promising to bow to Renzati and the shade in exchange for power.

Unlike the brother she never knew, however, Sahara's time came about over a year after he was sacrificed to the Shade. Renzati had reinforced the Shade's connection to Sornieth and her own strength in that time. A more freely-expressive cult was much smaller a risk than it was a year before.

And, annoyingly, what little empathy Renzati had left extended toward her fellow skydancer. A mutual who also recognized the true power and nobility of the Shade.

Thus, the Cult of the Shadesworn was born, with Sahara as the head. Member rankings were denoted by onyx seraph jewelry, and marking the dragons who wore it as part of the organization.
