Xingu came to the Moonlit Waves together with Haru. Despite the fact that the other Skydancer was older than him, Xingu often found himself caring for Haru. The two Skydancers met in a peculiar fashion: their clans had decided to merge despite being of the Lightning and Nature flights. Xingu didn’t mind Haru’s kindness. The other Skydancer was so soft, Xingu feared he wouldn’t be able to make it in the world. So Xingu made it his duty to protect Haru. He swore that he wouldn’t abandon the older dragon, and Haru was touched by this. Alas, their happiness wouldn’t last long. During the meeting between their clans’, something horrific happened. Their leaders were assassinated. Suspicions quickly arose and the dragons of the Lightning and Nature clans turned on each other. Sticking to his promise, Xingu did his best to get Haru out of here. They fought tooth and claw against the traitorous dragons, escaping with heavy—but not fatal—injuries. Flying was exhausting, but they knew it was for the best. They fled to the Sunbeam Ruins, where it would hopefully be safe. Xingu and Haru hid themselves in the Sundial Terrence. There, they happened upon the Kingdom of the Sunstars. The dragoness Maris recognized them from when they shared a lair together, and vouched for Trinea not to have them executed. Despite the fact that it was clear they were not threats, Trinea asked for them to leave as quickly as possible. She’d heard of what happened with the Lightning and Nature clans, and didn’t want her clan to be caught up in it. Xingu and Haru understood, and made plans to leave immediately. She did tell them of the Moonlit Waves, however, stating that the Empire would accept them with open talons. She gifted them a map to the Empire, and the two Skydancers gratefully accepted it. Ouranos and Maris offered to help them get to the Empire and although Xingu was suspicious, Haru accepted their help graciously. The four dragons travelled across the Sea of a Thousand Currents together. It was a hard journey, and Xingu feared that Haru’s weak stature would not make it there. But his fears were unbidden, for they arrived at the Star-Touched Atoll without problems. Ouranos helped explain to Empress Aislinn exactly what the situation was for Xingu and Haru. Very interested in these two dragons, it was Alruccabah who convinced the Empress to spare them. Aislinn was worried about how crowded their islands were getting, but allowed Xingu and Haru to live with them. Unfortunately, she was forced to give them one of the smallest dens at the edges of the isles. Xingu and Haru didn’t mind, adapting to their new home quickly. It was better than starving or being chased from everywhere they tried to make some sort of home. They were as loyal to the Empire as they possibly could, much to the dismay of Corrente who was trying to find ways to get them kicked out after the whole Azigos/Ambrilia fiasco. Living in their small, cramped quarters was nothing for Xingu and Haru. Being life-partners helped them feel safe. Though it was tight, they survived. They survived, and then they met the loves of their lives. Tempero and Alsira were visiting the outer isles when they came upon Xingu and his best friend. Despite the differences, Xingu almost immediately fell in love with Tempero. He would often leave Haru with Alsira, who helped and protected the older Skydancer. Tempero wasn’t the biggest fan of Xingu, due to his overenthusiasm, but grew to like him for who he was and his loyalty to Haru. Despite Xingu’s love for Tempero, nothing would be able to override his own love for Tempero. Tempero and Xingu eventually decided to get married, though Xingu still didn’t want to leave Haru (who married Alsira). They were much happier after they fell in love, on all sides of it. They loved being together and protecting each other like family. Years after their marriage, Xingu, Haru, Tempero and Alsira were sent to the Kingdom of the Sunstars to train and meet with others as part of an exchange situation. Xingu and Tempero had their clutch of eggs, and they returned home with them. Now they are the happy parents of several young hatchlings who they love with everything in them. |
