Koi was born on the outskirts of the Turrets of Goldensparc with a natural affinity for water and fear of the dangerous cliffs lining the Shifting Expanse, as well as the constant roaring thunderstorms. Her family moved to the Tsunami Flats in order to allow her more freedom in the water and hone her swimming skills; however, she quickly picked up a new hobby, frequently crossing the border into the Sunbeam Ruins, fascinated by the ruins scattered across the lands and the ancient architecture. In her teenage years, she began exploring other areas surrounding the Sea, quickly finding her place in the Windswept Plateau, a quick-paced land that attracted travelers from all over Sornieth. Here, she began to be exposed to dragons of various backgrounds. When she became old enough to live on her own, she decided to move once more to Singer's Brook, a much more peaceful part of the Plateau where many students - largely of water or native wind background - came to mingle. Here, she discovered and committed to the study of dragonology. This eventually led her to permanently settle at the Astrolodome, having found her calling in academia. She now teaches draconic culture and linguistics and continues to study the reconstruction of extinct draconic languages and civilizations. However, her heart still yearns for the comforting nostalgia of the places she used to live, and is thus often seen outside the Marine Museum working in the tea garden. Because of this, she officially holds the title of manager for the aquatic exhibits, despite much of the maintenance being handled by her protégé. |
