Biography

Lost Soul
She/Her

The mining company was cautioned against taking more than was necessary from the mountains, but the greed of the higher-ups outweighed any concern for their workers. The tunnels that honeycombed the ancient stone gradually undermined its stability, and an accident was imminent.

Satrian trusted her bosses. She had been a loyal worker for years, and was particularly talented at sniffing out rich veins of ore. Even when she felt the mines tremble, still she trusted their judgement.

Her fellow miners called out for her, but she was too far down the tunnel to notice the ominous rumbling shaking the entrance. The last time Satrian ever saw her coworkers, they were racing towards her with fear in their eyes and thick dust coating their scales.

The rocks that fell between them did not kill Satrian, but she was pronounced dead by her employers anyway. A small sum was sent to her remaining family for compensation, and the mine was closed. It was a miracle, really, that they had only lost one worker.

Satrian was left alone in the tunnel, but the cave-in had opened up cracks and fissures that lead deeper into the mountains. She wormed her way through tiny openings that tattered her wings, swam through deep underground rivers with no guarantee that there would be a pocket of air ahead. She never noticed that that her lungs no longer ached after long periods of time slipping through pitch black water. Or that she could squeeze her body through crevices that would not allow the smallest hatchling.

It is unclear if Satrian is truly dead, or if she has simply become something that has adapted to squirming its way through the dark. Legend has it that if you walk to the mouth of the mine, you can still hear her calling for her fellow miners, her employers, for anyone at all. No one dares to press any further.
Satrian has been down there a very, very long time. But she has yet to give up.
She'll find the light some day.

Exalting Satiran to the service of the Arcanist will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
