Dansari was born to Remnant and Little Cloud, one born of nature and the other of ice. They had a little boy, whom they named Shard of Life. Shard was pure white, with eyes of a cool sea blue. The two parents soon split, and Shard’s mother took him with her.

Shard had little choice as to what he was to grow up to be. Remnant wanted him to have the same fervent curiosity for all things ancient and holy as she did, and decided to put him through the monastery to train him. Shard hated studying, he could care less about the Ki or the Way of the Shadows. The young dragon had no idea what he could do instead, as Remnant would never bring up his father, nor what he used to do before they parted. Shard would rummage through his mother’s stuff using the skills he had learned, eventually coming upon a journal with her detailed account of finding the relic. He read about Little, strong and smooth as ice and passionate as fire. He read about his descriptions of traveling the world and the various songs of the forests he’d traveled through. Shard dreamed of experiencing the world one day, so he made a plan.

At a young age, he ran away from the monastery, taking nothing but a few supplies and his mother’s scarf (a memento from his father, but he doesn’t know). He found himself getting lost in the woods, traveling deeper and deeper into the beauty of the unknown. Amongst the various calls of the birds and the movement of wildlife, Shard found a beautiful song echoing through the trees. He felt himself move as if his body had a mind of his own, his energy much stronger than he felt before. He had seen dragons dance before, but he had never truly tried it himself until now. His excitement built and he felt lighter than air until he stomped a foot down wrong and snapped his ankle. The injury wasn’t too bad, but he found himself unable to get help.

He eventually found himself healed enough to find his way back, where one of the monk masters was waiting, having followed him into the forest days ago. The master, a dragon by the name of Bell Drop, was a shunned member of the monastery, infamous for his unorthodox styles of teaching. He took Shard under his wing, allowing him to choose a different name and cutting his tail to a stub as they left the monastery to train Shard in the Way of the Dancer. Shard took on the name Dansari, spending time with his mentor deep in the woods with nothing but some simple gear and his mother’s blue scarf. He endured many tests, travelling to nearby villages to perform in contests and hone his skills. At age 25, Dansari caught wind of his mother’s death, searching to find an ancient relic to unlock it’s true powers. Whatever resentments he held toward her were replaced by grief, and a deep desire to finish what she started, if only to make her proud of the dragon he’d become.
