Though born in a plague lair, Orchid and Oleander came to their current clan as hatchlings. Neither is quite sure why their parents chose to move them, but as they've grown accustomed to the comfort of their new life, they see little reason to question it.

Orchid is the more placid of the two. She went from a gentle and stoic hatchling into a wise, dignified adult. She carries herself with a special sort of poise, always graceful and always powerful, but never intimidating. She is introverted and observant, the type of dragon who watches and learns about everyone around her, and who always thinks before she speaks. Her quiet nature sometimes puts her at odds with her more excitable and sometimes overwhelming brother, but they remain incredibly close in spite of their contrasting personalities. Sometimes, she just needs a break from him.

Her parents always considered her wise beyond her years. She was always the most mature of her age-mates, albeit a little bit on the humorless side. She never really cared to play, and she certainly had no interest in her brother's adventures. She was empathetic, though; empathetic and understanding, with a knack for understanding things within their own context, and for seeing things from the viewpoints of others.

As she grew, she developed an interest in spiritualism. She focused on her education and on her liturgical skills, and therefore grew into a respected spiritual leader. Today, she graces her clanmates with wise advice and spiritual guidance, helping to ease troubled minds and ground lost souls. She is among the most trusted and beloved figures in the clan. She is pious, and she lives a life of example for her peers. Her position has made her humble and kind.

She's still known for lacking a sense of humor, but she remains approachable in spite of that. She is mysteriously quiet and sometimes worryingly cryptic, but she still finds a smile when the time is right. In spite of her distant nature, nobody in the clan regards her as untrustworthy. She is simply serene.

Outside of her work, she has few obligations. She doesn't have a particularity active social life, but she does have two close friends, Atira and Shakura. Orchid loves spending quiet afternoons with the couple, talking about pleasant topics or perhaps studying religion. The pair are deeply religious as well, always choosing to send their hatchlings to their deity in tribute, knowing that they will serve the highest calling.

Orchid elects not to take a mate or have children of her own, but she greatly enjoys tending to her friends' hatchlings before their departure. She has a good hand with them, and she prides herself with giving them a good start on life.
