Biography
Snowdrop the Tiny, Mother of Mirrors, The Squishable One (Don't believe it? Ask Nomnom.), Wielder of Teeny Tiny Blue Flames, Wearer of Fuzz, Mommy of the Munching Ones, and Supervisory CEO of Original Orange
When she first hatched, nobody quite knew what to make of little Snowdrop, the runt of her clutch and the clumsiest hatchling they'd ever seen, tripping over plainly obvious things and running right into walls.
She was less than a day old when her parents were told she had been born blind- an explanation for her actions, yes, but also a practical death sentence.
A blind, helpless little runt Fae, living in an ice clan? She could hardly stay warm enough when helped by others, let alone on her own, and even as she got older she didn't grow much. The clan wasn't hopeful of her survival, and Snowdrop certainly wasn't making it any easier for herself.
She wandered away from the nest one day- as curious as any hatchling- and found herself far from home, cold and alone and lost. She crawled to a cave, seeking shelter, and discovered a rogue dragon, who was none to happy to be interrupted.
By the time her clan found her, Snowdrop was practically made of ice herself, and couldn't stop shivering- a curse set upon her by the rogue. Nobody was sure what to do with her anymore.
Until Nightra, the leader of a lightning clan, happened to visit on her way home, along with her clan's best fighter, a Mirror named Lucy.
Lucy took one look at Snowdrop, deposited the shaking Fae on her back, and announced that they would take care of her, even arguing with the parents that she would be better off in a warmer climate, blind or not.
Eventually, it was agreed, and Lucy took Snowdrop home, and vowed to train her, so that, eyesight or not, she would never be helpless again.
And now, Snowdrop lives happily in the clan's tree, sharing a nest with Lucy and the Mirror children she's left in charge of, and she trains, and learns, and loves life, and lets her curiosity thrive.
"Curiosity is the greatest gift the gods can grant you with. Use it well, even if it doesn't always go well, because it will open doors that you never even knew could be unlocked."
