Biography

By @Valkyriae

The same way the sun had its sunspots, Gospel saw the hatching of Nichibotsu. The dragon was hatched much too early in the egg, howling into the hidden city. Despite coming from a clutch of Light eggs, her eyes were dull, covered with a thin film. Her cries came from desperation- that her vision was blurred, and that everything was impossible to see clearly.

Her parents could not pray to the Shadowbinder for sight, for the Nightmother detested her sister, and was less likely to grant a favor to a child of hers. Brilliant as the Healers were, they could not solve the problem of the wailing child. Finally, the community decided to drop her into the lightest side of the forest, where she would be exposed to light.

The Lightweaver saw a curious child, prodding her way around where the forest began, and saw her dull eyes. Even though this was not the Shadowbringer's fault, she cursed her sister, in front of the child, restoring her vision and blessing her out of spite.

Now, Nichibotsu can see clearly, but the blessing of the Lightweaver is obvious. Her eyes are lanterns in the shadowy city of Gospel. Travelers see her eyes and hope that she will help them- but her gleaming eyes show only the blessing, and not her true colors. Many a time, with her bright eyes and gleaming teeth, she has led dragons astray, deeper into a forest that will claim them...

What a gorgeous dragon. Her lore really inspired me on my search ;p I hope this quote suits her.

Does faith saturate every pore of the faithful? If I were to take, say, an eye from a truly devout person, would I begin to believe, to see God’s plan?

I figured this since she was kind of blessed by the Lightweaver, but ultimately seems to have rejected her by living in the abyssal depths.
