Hailing from Dragonhome, Clay says he became lost in the Scarred Wasteland after being chased down by the mutated creatures that roam there. Though, when Ruby found him, he seemed untouched, despite describing having to fight off the creatures with his life. Any further inquiries as to what he was doing in the Wasteland were quickly shut down or ignored, though he was found near Quarantine Zone #128, so the other dragons have their conspiracies.
Despite his standoffishness around the topic as to why he came to the Wasteland, Clay is generally well-liked by his clanmates. He gets along especially well with Lev, who shares his interest in science.
