Biography

Alone in the night -
Constantly searching,
I am the one that
Stands still
In a world that moves
I see all that lives and dies
Under these skies
But I remain unchanged
And endless

I am a mountain in this desert
Timeworn and ancient
As the sands come and go
And the dragons die
Like waves crashing on my shores
They live such bright, short lives
Like fireworks trying
To catch my eye

I want to be
Where the people are
But I would stand out
Like a sore tooth,
Or raven trying to pretend
To be another bird,
Or a cuckoo living
In another's nest

And I am still eternal
Immortal, and unchanging
This is a curse worse
Than dying ever was
But I fear if I
Went down there
How long would it take
For the sameness to set in?
For every death to be
An eye blink
And nothing more
