B I O G R A P H Y

Numerous stars spread across the inky black sky. The moon seemed bigger than usual, somehow. Fish sighed, a puff of air appearing. She stared at nothingness, gazing into nothing. Her friend tilted his head and did the same. He was so very much like her, yet they never spoke. He had no name yet Fish had always called him "Gills". A pretty uncreative name, she thought, but it wasn't like he complained either. Moments later, he got tired of playing with air and soon leaped into the water swimming away. She huffed out a laugh and jumped into the water chasing after her friend. A disturbance of air was the only proof that she was once there.

Fish was a rather lonely orphan. Others avoided her because she was quite unusual. Not like she knew what was wrong with her in the first place. In fact, the only friend she ever had was Gills and he isn't even a dragon (at least she doesn't think he is). She doesn't quite remember when she met Gills. It was as though he had always been with her since she hatched. But it didn't matter, all she needed was Gills and that was just alright. But there were always times where a traitorous part of her mind wondered why her egg was buried deep in the sand of Fishspine Reef. Of course, there were also times where she wondered if her egg was dumped there for a reason. No parent would be that irresponsible to lose their egg, surely.

Fish had always wanted to meet her parents. She had to have parents, right? Yet, dragons in the sea only looked at her with pity as they passed by, nothing else. Fish despised pity. It wasn't useful and it only reminded her of how useless she is to be on the streets like an urchin. After all, Gaolers weren't the most social type and with her reputation as an orphan, it was quite difficult to find any job at all. If she had any talent anyways. And so she earned her treasure through thievery. It definitely was not the most honorable of.. jobs but screw honor. It didn't help that Gills had only stood by and watched her commit crimes. Even though they could not communicate, she could practically feel the disappointment that oozed off of him in waves. She pointedly ignored him.
