Background: In the lair she hails from, everything is controlled by Nether. Dragons are told what to say, what to think, and who to mate with, regardless of whether you actually want to or not. If you are lucky and keep in Nether's favour, you'll be allowed to mate with the one you love, and if not... well.
Annuneth had always felt jealous of Marguerite. As the clan's spy, she knows what all the dragons are whispering about, and she knew a lot of the clan's men fancied the pretty pearlcatcher. But Marguerite only had eye for one dragon... Cannopus, the handsome imperial, one of the clan's designated babysitters. They wanted a nest of their own, but Annuneth would use her influence with Nether every time they asked for permission. And then Annuneth decided to hurt Marguerite in the most terrible way.. By requesting to nest with Cannopus.

Born from a nest only conceived out of spite, Cassiopeia has always felt used. As a child she was never more than something her mother could rub in Marguerite's nose. By the time she became an adult, the fun had wore off, and now Cassiopeia is finally allowed to make her own decisions..
So she decided to travel, to go out and meet dragons, and find herself. But she won't dare to go out of light territory!
Nether allows this, because she knows she'll always return.
