Sorvedi

Sorvedi was told, as he came to an age where he could be expected to understand such things, that there was a group out there, which held his family in contempt- or rather, which both detested and desired to capture many, if not all, in his family. Yes-- he'd been told that by his father, for Kali had vanished not long after he was born.

He felt very little concern about the whole affair. Supposedly, his family could travel through time and space in the blink of an eye; they possessed great power that made this group wish to capture them all- but, then, he didn't have any such powers. He'd begun to think that this was all just a story, invented to comfort a child whose mother was gone.
Sorvedi thought it was all very silly, to make believe about a great mysterious bogeyman called "the Organization," and to tell him that his mother was off fighting it. He had come to the conclusion, in his adolescence, that she must have died in some feud; that she did not exist any more, and his father was trying to lessen that blow.

So imagine the shock it was, when she appeared before him; stepping through the great open portal that had rent itself into the fabric of reality before him.
"Sorvedi?"
"Who- how do you know my name?"
"I'm your mother." She smiled, held her hand out. "We need to hurry. The Organization is already after me- I'm sorry that I wasn't there for your childhood."
...
Pah.
His expression, one of disbelief, even as he walked through- not taking the hand, not willing to accept just yet that this wasn't all still some dream.

He coughed, nauseated by the whatever in Shade's name that was that he'd just felt his body undergo.
