When Reidi was younger, she was a normal Effluvial Crow. Just before she reached adulthood, she was attacked by an Albino Crow, Cruor. Because of Cruor's unique condition, and possibly a mutation of her own, Reidi was affected by the virus as if she was a non-Effluvial dragon. She was sick for days with a fever and heightened bloodlust, as she had never felt as much violence as her parents or siblings. When she recovered, her scales had bleached to white, the exact same shade as Cruor, with dark red marks on her talons and body.

When they realized that they had changed, Reidi decided to leave home before completing their training to become a full Effluvial Crow. Because they were now technically an Albino Crow, they could be a full-fledged member of Crow society, but instead, they chose to go into a self-imposed exile to study this new genetic anomaly. Reidi was trying to see if they could figure out if this was a new variant of the Effluvial Crow viral strain.

As a result, she became infatuated with studying the different Effluvial viruses and how they differ from one another. Reidi is now one of the top Effluvial Crow researchers in Sorneith. She conducts experiments with samples of her own viral strain, Cruor's viral strain, and a normal Albino Crow strain to try and find the mutation. She also uses her siblings' strains with hers to try and find why she was changed from an Effluvial to an Albino.
