- captain of cruise
- left birth clan when xe was 19. wanted to explore and see what the world had to offer
- has decades of experience at sea under xyr belt
- one day, paulo contacted kailani, asking xem to be a captain of their new cruise. after thinking it over, xe accepted. sure, xe had some reservations about working with paulo, having heard about the kind of person they are, but maybe it would be a simple voyage across hangarin's blue seas
- it was not. gods above, please help xem

- blunt and honest, but still kind
- voracious reader. reads in xyr spare time. worldly in all the stuff xe reads

physique
- has two facial scars: on the forehead and bridge of xyr nose. resulted from altercations during a voyage years ago
- uses a wooden, weathered cane, with a carving of a mythological sea creature at the top. needs it to get around
- is not concerned about looks

relationships
- gets along well with the rest of xyr crew
- sees jet as xyr pupil. did not want them to fall victim to people like paulo, and sympathizes with them being forced to work on the ship
- friendly with anahera (bless her for having the patience to deal with paulo)
- friendly with kalama and misty
- basically on good terms with all the staff (save for paulo and nayvie)
- dislikes paulo for multiple reasons. blatant osha violations for the sake of aesthetics is one. another is letting sable carry out her performance to the chagrin of many staff members
- despises julius and people like him who would turn their noses up at non-academic professions
- doesn't care about the performers. to xem it's just entertainment, and it's not xyr cup of tea. xe can simply read a book and not get roped into whatever attractions paulo set up for the cruise

- not technologically inclined. even digital watches annoy xem. has appreciation for analog solutions, as they don't needlessly complicate things
- would happily recount stories of xyr escapades if given the chance
- when xe was younger, xe was pretty strong. still feels proud of xyr strength
- has no problem with magic. since xe’s a sea-faring captain, xe’s Seen everything. understands that magic users are just like anyone else. judges them with what’s presented to xem
- likes fishing. fishing and all fishing things
- loves astronomy and is knowledgeable in the subject — important as xe's out at sea. has a natural interest in it that's been present ever since xe was a small child
