Deep in the heart of the Viridian Labyrinth, nestled within the roots of the Behemoth, a tiny seedlike egg was about to hatch. A tiny hairline crack began to grow along the top of the shell, stretching around to meet itself and from a small door in the egg. A set of tiny off-white claws broke through the shell, pushing the newly made hatch open, revealing a small pink winged fae. Folirosa rested a moment, taking in the lush world around her, then wriggled her way out of the remaining shell.
She lay quietly on the soft green moss, surrounded by the shell fragments of her egg. She unfolded her wet, wrinkled wings and shook them out, removing the last of the protective membrane that covered them in the egg. Once her strength returned to her limbs, she began to explore.

The small hatchling wandered for a time until hunger drove her to seek out food. She stumbled across a tree covered in caterpillars and found they were delicious. Having gorged herself, she moved on. She wandered about the roots of the giant tree she hatched under, growing larger each day.
As Folirosa grew, she started flapping and attempting to fly. She had seen other dragons take off and soar through the air, but being a young hatching, she was unable to get more than a bit off the ground. She decided perhaps she needed to climb a tree to gain a better vantage point. She climbed the Behemoth for what seemed like ages, until she was above the canopy. She spread her wings and leaped. She frantically flapped, scooping at the air with her wings for a moment then they gave way.
She plummeted.
Suddenly, a strong gust picked up and swept her away. The trees sped by beneath her with increasing speed. She tumbled in the wind like an autumn leaf, flipping and rolling, head over heels, over and over again. With effort, she twisted her body, tucked her wings into her sides and finally righted herself. She threw out her wings and caught the cushions of air in their membrane. Folirosa was flying!
She flew, guided by the wind until her wings ached. As she angled down and flew closer to the ground, she realized she had no idea how to land. Too late, she flapped her tired wings trying to gain height and buy herself time. She broke though the canopy and lost the assistance of the wind. Flailing about, she tumbled down past leaves and brightly colored flowers and landed awkwardly on the forest floor of the Everbloom Gardens.

Folirosa settled into her new home, chosen by the wind. She began creating a cozy little roost of sap, leaves, and petals near a babbling stream leading into a pristine pond.
One day, while out catching a dinner moth, Folirosa spied a fellow dragon as she had done many times before. This one was flying from branch to branch, inspecting leaves and hollows in the limbs crooks. He was orange in color with contrasting stripes of turquoise. She flew over to him and found he was setting out into the world and was looking to make something of himself. Excitedly, she told him she was doing the same. She had a roost in the works and if he wanted they could team up to make light work if it.
So, Cypreusage, the copper fae, joined forces with the pink fae, and together they founded the ever expanding Crystal Fern Colony.
