______ Ever since the global reveal of the new species, the news spread like a wildfire that was fanned by the Wind Deity of the Wind clan. Lavenderara marveled at anything particularly alien and was especially stunned when he found a pendant of the Abberant's two-headed faces etched on the surface. It had been days, and he still hadn't told anyone about being selected to put it on, surely the Overseer's will, and it must've thought he was worthy of obtaining such a gem. He pondered as if bees infested his brain; it drove him insane about the decision he could never undo if he accepted this gift. Setting aside additional worries, Laven yearned for something different and new. It was his entire life of going on adventures, the thrill of not knowing what the future held made him feel more alive than the air he breathed. It was his mother. His gentle mother; what would she think of this? She had always had a conservative mind and would go ballistic of seeing her son change into some unknown kind of dragon. One inevitable day soon came to pass.

______ "The Overseer's will? What on the lightning's stretch does that mean! You are not accepting that-Thing!" The female snapper's frail voice quivered, unable to reach a tone that made her sound morbidly serious. Lavenderara meekly met his mother's eyes, contrasting his usual boisterous attitude. "Mom, please. It is not like I am the only dragon in the world that will be honored a pendant of a discovered dragonkind. Do smile. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that will never come again. Can't you see mother? The Overseer knew my daily struggles. I was growing bored, wasting away with the sameness eating me up in the inside. You must understand." His honeyed voice was glazed with understanding, though sprinkled with internal excitement. Sukaikura, his worrisome mother, was flustered to the brim. She always supported Laven, with anything ever since he was a troublesome hatchling. Her uniquely colored eyes grew dewy and shiny, her voice cracked. "You won't look like, you, anymore. You'll be something unrecognizable. 'But," Sukai then widely smiled. "You'll always have your eyes, those beautiful eyes you had ever since you were nothing but a small boulder. Lavenderara, you'll always be my son." Laven's wing craned over Sukai's head, hiding the fact he was going to cry from relief. "Thank you, mother."
