A wise leader, Brachyura is kind, gracious, and patient. She founded her Clan unintentionally, opening her territory to passersby who became her friends, those friends who eventually became family. She prefers to lead by example, and teach through experience, exposing the youth of her ever growing family to joys and dangers alike in order to instill the same cautious-yet-courageous attitude that's kept her alive so far in others. However, she can also be lazy and occasionally so involved in her meditations she forgets the importance of consistent structure. Not a reader, she does not place importance on the written word, a point of contention with her amata, Lightshell, when it comes to raising the offspring of the clan. Where she is the heart of the clan, he is the brains, so she leaves the structural integrity and the training of the mental acuity of her small kingdom to him.

She favors freshwater varieties of trout, and has carved out her own grotto in the hollow of a river. One can find it by looking for a whirlpool in the river's water. This is where she keeps her eggs, and meditates three times daily.
