Please don't seperate me from my partner! We would die if we were split from another, and besides, I can't imagine life without my partner. We'd rather you send us home than separate us.
she | her (Schticks) and he | him (Schtack)
O C C U P A T I O N - Conjoined travelers. H O A R D - Schticks enjoys keeping a ready supply of loud knick-knacks collecting from her and her brother's travels - toys made for hatchlings that make great shrieking noises, and kazoos she doesn't know how to play but does anyway. Her brother Schtack is more of the classical type, preferring to carry around books. L U G G A G E - ྿

Uh-oh, looks like these conjoined Banescales wandered a little too far from their home lair (452562, Hyzenthlaay), and now they’re off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt them, we'd really appreciate it if you could just return them to their original home via the Crossroads, the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread here, or this rest hub, if you don’t want another traveler in return from the thread. You can also adopt them permanently if you don’t want them leaving your lair - just contact hyzenthlaay and let her know (it’s good for her notes)! Many people have worked very hard on these traveling dragons, and exalting them would be an absolute shame. Please don’t do it. Schticks and Schtack are one of Sornieth's only living examples of conjoined twins. Very few of their condition survive far past hatching, if they do at all - and due to their disconcerting resemblance to emperors, many are denied care, subject to passive attempts to save their lives, or are outright killed. Connected at their neckbone, with Schticks controlling the left and Schtack controlling the right, it is unknown exactly how the two survived, but one must sum it up to sibling coordination and stubborn will - the two work perfectly in tandem, as if it were their minds too that were connected (they are not, contrary to popular belief), and past that, they just have a plain refusal to quite. Most with developmental conditions quite as drastic as their's would be terrified to hoof it across Sornieth on a whirlwind adventure, but that's exactly what the two of them are doing - seeing as much as Sornieth as they can in the time that they have on their planet. They'll make money however they can - making themselves a carnival attraction included. The result can sting the two by the end of it, but money is money, and the road is cruel to pockets. Schticks and Schtacks may be coordinated, but they are not the same dragon - it's the misconception that they hate encountering the most. Schticks is given to passionate conversation and emotionality. Schtack is more reserved and bookish, preferring higher-level thought and reflection. Yet the two interact with one another so well that these personalities fit seamlessly within one another, with the two rarely fighting or disagreeing (if ever). It would be a difficult venture indeed for them to move if they couldn't get along - perhaps this is the secret to their survival? If one studies their bodies for long enough, it is obvious that Schticks' body is of a slight different coloration than Schtacks. Originally written by @Hyzenthlaay, lore shop here. Hyzenthlaay:
Schticks and I had a pleasant enough stay in Clan Mavenlark.
Seconded! I really loved exploring the merchants' ally here. There were always all different kinds of stuff.
Still, even the biggest city in the Arcanist's region has its downfalls.
Like being avoided, as per usual. I think we might have made a hatchling cry at one point. That wasn't very fun. Then again...
We made four times the usual amount by posing for artists as a live model. One of them made some kind of back-clawed compliment to us by saying that their workshops specifically seek atypical bodies to star in their work so they can be pushed to the limits. In my brother's wise words - not very fun.
But the amount that we earned from their clan alone can probably fund our adventures for several moons outwards without having to worry about work! Think about all the souvenirs that we can carry. I'm banking on more books, personally. Maybe I'll start that postcard collection I've been talking about for a while.
I'm treating myself to a new instrument the next time we go shopping in Mavenlark! Preferably something I've never seen before, so I can play it extra well.
Well, we may be connected, but at least my ears work.
Rude!
EnglishRose:
We came across the most wonderful clan after the previous one didn't we Schticks!
Yea we did. They were quite the friendly bunch, they-
So we were walking along the Sea of a Thousand Currents when I spotted this patch of rainbows on the water. I convinced Schticks to let us go check it out. When we neared it this HUGE Imperial burst out of the water. He was so bright he nearly blinded me! It was like looking into the sun!
AhEm, I wouldn't liken him to the sun but... anyways, AS I was saying... They call themselves Clan Rose of Rainbow Waters. However, the rainbows in the water weren't magic. It was caused by light refracting off the dragons' scales and hides. The inside of their lair is 10 times as rainbowy? as the water at the surface. It really was a spectacular sight. The lair itself was also beautiful besides the rainbows. They have a hidden cavern that is a little paradise with grass, waterfalls, natural light... and in a pool in the center of the room was the largest and most beautiful coral garden I had ever seen.
Yea, that really was impressive. We've never seen anything like it.
Absolutely. The clan was also home to Night Warriors and Starborn Prophets. They're these dragons that come from legendary lineages. I had only read about them in legends. Yet there they were in the clan as if they weren't from the stuff of legends. It was mindboggling.
SCHTICKS! YOU FORGOT THE BEST PART!!
The what...? What best part?
The BEST. PART.
...You've lost me Schtack
No one STARED. We weren't treated like some monstrosity! We blended into the other clan dragons so well no one gave us a second glance!
Huh, now that you mention it, you're right. We were treated as equals in that clan, weren't we.
Uhh, YAH. I can't believe you didn't notice.
I was busy looking at everything else. That lair and that clan is so fascinating I want to study them so bad, or better, write a book about them.
Figures. Of course you'd want to do that of all things. I wish we could stay Schtack...
I know, me too. But we must press on. Maybe we can come back to visit some day.
I would love that.
SongofSummer:
The Song of Summer clan were really nice.
The younger dragons in particular liked to listen to stories of our travels.
One day Ocean took us on a quest to the Woodland Path to find bat wings. I don't know how much help we were, considering he was level 10 and we were only level 1.
We never did find any bat wings did we?
Now that you mention it, I don't think we did... But! When a Janustrap followed us back to the lair, Ocean said we could keep it!
He also let us keep all the treasure from the leafy packs the dryads dropped. He's a very generous dragon!
We'll definitely have to come back to visit some day, but it's hard to fly with all the wind around here!
Strangeflesh:
Damnit be to the Gods, it has been a very long time before we've been able to write. We had to flee from a violent Gaoler, an ancient beast of hatred.
'Violent' is far too light to describe that horrible malefactor! We barely escaped with our lives. What a horrible dragon they were! I hope she gets what's coming to her.
Yes, now we fled to a town in the plaugelands, where we treated rather normally.
I guess with those Aberration fellows about, we aren't they interesting now. Damn! How are we gonna make money now?
I think we should write about our experiences. We've still never seen anything like us. We should start codifying it now.
