The world of Borderlands is plagued by the corporate wars, where massive weapons manufacturing companies battle for resources, sponsors, and territory. Hyperion is one such company - relentlessly bureaucratic, one's worth is determined simply by where you stand in the hierarchy. At the top stands Handsome Jack, the main villain of Borderlands 2, a man so disconnected from reality that he can eradicate planets and still call himself a hero.

Hyperion guns are named after "business" words - the Conference Call, Competition, Brainstormer. They function with reverse accuracy, starting inaccurate and becoming more stable the longer they're shot. In Borderlands 3, they also come with a small shield that deploys while aiming.
