Delilah is one dragon that's full of surprises. She knows her way around a social event, though she would prefer to be alone in the dark, or with Eli, her arranged mate. Don't be fooled, Delilah and Eli were childhood best friends and are still best friends to this day, but they don't feel romantically attracted to each other.

Later, after her daughter, Eva was born, Delilah certainly felt protective of her, and loved her very much, but she didn't feel complete as other had said she would. Instead, she was confused and overwhelmed. She is still looking for the thing that will give her true purpose and make her feel complete. She tried very hard to hide her feelings, because she saw in Eli a happiness she had never seen in him, but he knew. He always knew.

Which is why she suspected he noticed her getting closer to a new dragon in the clan, Flesher. Delilah had never truly felt romantic love before, her family had made sure of that, but this one... He made her feel special, not in the political ways of her family, or even the kind, friendly ways of Eli. She just felt...complete. She started opening up to him. She told him about her family's politics, and her distress at having Eli as her mate. She told him about her disconnect with Eva, and the pressure she was under. It didn't take long for Delilah to realize she wanted him to be her mate, but she kept quiet. She already had a mate, and a daughter. Even with the slight disconnect Delilah felt with Eva, she still loved her daughter with all her heart, and just couldn't think of putting her through that kind of stress. So she hid her feelings in a box in her mind. Not gone, just hidden.
