Eyesee

Within a small Ice clan, a egg is brought into being, however, for reasons unknown the clan has to move far away, they pack their things and make sure everyone is present before flying away never to return.

Only, they forgot the egg

Submerged in snow, the young life being frozen within.. yet it survived to burst out of the snow, a light blue mirror with the peculiar trait of various sets of eyes decorating her body and reaching to about halfway down her tail. The Mirror was soon spotted by a young dragon who happened to be wondering throughout the snowy plains, it spotted the young hatchling within the cold, completely exposed to the weather yet not even giving a slight shiver, running out to help.... only for them to meet the gaze of one her extra eyes, the dragon froze like a statue, scales replaced with ice, a mere decoration and frightening first example of the Mirror's cursed power.

The statue was never found, whisked away by the cursed life in order to preserve her own, for her body was now bound to the frozen dragon's state, were it to be broken, or were someone to try and break them out of their prison, she would break as though merely a moving glass statue, and die.
Word of this Mirror grew within the Southern Icefield, an ominous tale and warning to never leave an unhatched egg out within the snow, though some of those loyal to the Icewarden actively seek her out in order to imprison her once and for all... and for those trapped? They continue to vanish and be placed into a hidden cave deep below the surface, her collection continuing to grow..

So let me tell you the same moral passed down to many throughout the Icewarden's land, keep an eye on all your future clan members, never leave an egg to die out in the snow, lest a curse befall them much like the poor hatchling that has been morphed into a monster.
