bio ❧ Mouse and Nezumi and Effluvials who found each other not long after an event neither can seem to recall. His feathers and down rise when he thinks about it for too long. They were mere hatchlings when they found themselves alone. Mouse was a bit younger. He remembers the songs and lullabies his mother sang to him, and the soft colors of the wings worn proudly by his older brothers and sisters. Nezumi was from a different family who lived nearby, she says she remembers their songs and wings too, but she seems to remember more by the way she shuts down when she talks about it. She doesn't say, and Mouse doesn't ask. Sometimes things are better left buried.

notes ❧ Mouse hummed softly as he sorted through last week's herbs left to dry in the sun. Nezumi paced around as he sat a top their lair. "I just don't know if we should trust them. No one seems to know what happened, I've seen them, crows like us. They don't talk much but those who do share a similar story to ours. I just want to know what happened, who's to blame" He sighed softy, turning away from his herbs to look at her, "Nezumi, clans rise and fall all the time. It's the order of life around here, who's to say anything happened at all. Our ancestors may have had a terrible fate but our descendants don't have to share it" Mouse quietly bundled some clover as Nezumi continued her pacing, mumbling about crows with blood red wings and wings as bright as freshly picked berries. She was right at least, few crows they've met looked like them. When they met their first other Effluvial clan, they had rejoiced, believing them to be their kin they had long since lost. Memories of soft songs and light wings had quickly faded upon seeing the dark red eyes and feathers of the crows. They were greeted with kindness and pitiful eyes from some, while others stared in awe. They received directions from that first clan to seek out others, but the results remained the same. Every clan they went to had the same feathers, the same wrong feathers. And every clan stared at them with remorse and awe. They few crows they met, the ones like them all had the same story. Orphaned. Abandoned. Found as a hatchling and taken in by a kind clan.
