Callidus, literally meaning cunning in Latin, is a crafty and charming dragon who stops at nothing to get what he wants, caring very little about others if it means he can achieve his own goals. His personality shifts like a chameleon, depending on who he works with, although nobody truly knows what he's like under his facade, his only consistent trait being his materialistic greed. The inventor / businessman is incredibly influential in Asmaji's politics, even though he isn't officially part of the government. The locals know to stay out of Callidus' way, but unsuspecting tourists get caught in his schemes |
| Callidus keeps his past to himself, resolving to never reveal anything beyond the character that he plays. Abandoned by his parents, he found himself on the edge of the Tangled Wood, lost and alone. Often, he would barely survive, wondering if each day was his last, his life changing the moment he met Katonas, an imperial who was slightly older than Callidus and functioned as his older brother, teaching the wildclaw how to survive in even the most corrupt cities. They hopped from clan to clan, never staying long and leaving without a trace, until the day Katonas persuaded Callidus to settle down in a city they would found together: Asmaji. |
| At first, this new city was the perfect utopia: Katonas ruled with a firm, but just hand and Callidus helped Asmaji's economy prosper, the city becoming a major tourist attraction to dragons from all flights to do business in. Over time, however, Callidus and Katonas stopped seeing eye to eye, and the ruler cut off all contact with his former traveling companion, and Callidus was left to watch Katonas become more powerful and more corrupted by the day, some unknown Shade-like power taking ahold of him. Gradually, Asmaji shifted from an ideal monarchy to a dystopian dictatorship, and Callidus knew that Katonas was beyond saving. Using his own riches to support a revolution, Callidus was there when they burnt Katonas's castle to the ground, leaving the former king for dead and creating a new system of government. |

Unknown to the other dragons, Callidus stayed behind, knowing that despite all odds, Katonas was alive. Callidus' suspicions were correct, as he found the king buried under rubble, unconscious but still breathing. Making the risky decision to wake Katonas up, Callidus found himself face to face with the dictator's furious, soulless eyes, and employed the best of his charisma to convince Katonas not to destroy the city that he founded and instead slip into the forests, where Katonas could live out the rest of his life. Later, much to his horror, Callidus found out about the ruins of Ankyir, and knew it was Katonas thanks to the shade-like remains of power in the fallen empire. Nobody else knew, but Callidus. And that night, when Callidus was alone, he let down his guard and cried for the mistake he'd made. |

Saw this guy first, went browsing through your whole lair and hibden, but ultimately came back to him. It's a really neat look and you did a great job putting together items from various apparel sets. Consistent color scheme but enough variation in exact color shades to to really draw the eye, especially the coat. Love his overall vibes a lot!
