Biography
Idalia!!
“Now kids,” Idalia started, tapping the board behind her, “Today we will be learning of the Clan’s history. Of its past and why we’re here,”
A Skydancer hatchling raised his hand, “Um.. um.. Miss??”
“Yes, darling?” She flicked her gaze to him
“Does that, um… does that mean we’ll learn more about you?” He tilted his head curiously, staring up at her. She chuckled lightly.
“I… suppose so. I’m not very important in the Clan’s history though. I’m simply a teacher,”
“My mama told me you were once a reeeeeeeeally fancy mage!! She said you taught Mr. Rhowen everything he knew,” His wings fluttered excitedly, “I wanna hear about that!!”
“You do, do you now?” She asked with a smile, bringing up a stool. The rest of the class of hatchlings quickly piped up with a chorus of excited chirps and agreements.
“Okay then. We’ll… we’ll start with that, shall we?”
The group cheered.
From there, she proceeded to tell a tale. A tale of a young girl wandering from Clan to Clan; of a girl with a wondrous talent for magic. She told a tale of a mage with a plethora of knowledge of the world and how this… magic worked, of how to use it and its uses.
The entire class was very intrigued, very absorbed in the story, unable to look away as Idalia went on to show them the story with magical little projections, battling one another as the teacher went on to tell how her story ended.
“The battle was hard and long. Neither side wanted to give in, wanting the land to theirself. Dragons falling left and right… It was a lot. At that point, it was hard to tell who was going to win. It was hard to tell who would give out first. Meanwhile, I had a fantastic idea. An…. idea I thought would end poorly for myself, but one that would give the Clan the opportunity to push forwards to victory,” She narrated.
“What was the plan??” The same little Skydancer from before asked, gasping dramatically.
“I’m getting there, hold on,” she giggled, “I was going to attack with a… blast of sorts. A shockwave I thought would push them all back and stun them for long enough that the rest of the Warriors could dash forwards and finish them off,”
The projection demonstrated, “So. That’s exactly what I did. I mustered up as much energy as I could, flew right up to the enemy line and used the last of my magic. Fortunately for me, it worked perfectly. We won the battle. I was rendered unconscious for.. The last part of the battle, so I can only go off of what our leaders Agapi and Kafsi have said, but… from what I’ve heard, it was a great victory. We won valiantly. They brought me back to the camp, Glacier helping me recover quickly. I may have been fine, but… my magic reserves were depleted severely. I am using magic here, for this… little projection, but… it’s a rather simple spell. It doesn’t take much. I’ve… hardly been able to do much more than this since that incident,”
“Woaaaahh…” The hatchlings gasped.
“Can we learn magic??” A Spiral piped up.
“If you so choose to, perhaps. You would have to go speak to Rhowen about that. I cannot do much in terms of teaching you that anymore,” Idalia smiled at them all. She waved the projection away and stood up, gently pushing the stool back to where it was with a wing.
“Now. Let’s get back to the rest of the lesson. That’s enough about me for today,”
“Aaaawh…” they said together.
“I know, I know… But this wasn’t actually what I was meant to be teaching you today. Maybe we’ll talk more about that another day,” She concluded, smiling more.
