Calypso

Calypso stretched her paw out and dipped her toes into the tide pool to bad at a small hermit crab. It tucked up into it's cream colored spiral shell as she knocked it, and she cocked her head in curiosity. She loved exploring the various oddities that would wash up into the rocky crevasses and deep sandy divots along the coastline as the tide pulled in and out each day.

The evening wind rustled through her fur, and Calypso lifted her head, giving it a shake so her thick shaggy mane tossed side to side. She spread her wings for a moment, stretching the dark membrane that glittered like the stairs above, just beginning to emerge as dusk turned to darkness. Giving herself another shake, Calypso pushed herself up off the cooling coastal rocks and lashed her tail, bowing her back into a massive stretch as her jaws parted in a wide yawn.

Turning away from the salty, shallow pools, Calypso made her way down the bank towards a large cliffside cave. She had to bow her head low in order to pass through the opening, and her back arched like a cat's as the rocks scraped pleasantly down her spine through her thick coat.

She hauled herself up off the floor of the cave onto a ledge where her nest was. she clawed at some of the dried grasses and collected feathers before thumping down in the center and curling her tail over her nose.
